Sargakshetra offers a diverse range of volunteering opportunities. Through these, you can not only contribute towards the betterment but also undergo a transformational journey for yourselves!

Apply for Volunteering

Students enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate at any accredited College/University (National or International) can apply for the internship program.

Interns who seek to gain experience about the functioning of an NGO and involve in the various activities of an NGO that focus on building a better person for a better society are preferred to be appointed as interns at Sargakshetra Charitable Trust.

The interns should be willing to take part in the activities undertaken by the Agency. Our activities focus on the psychosocial development of individuals of all age groups. Interns will get an opportunity to work in various fields like geriatric setting, child setting, awareness generation, community development programs, CSR activities, cancer care programs, anti-drug campaigns, disaster relief initiatives, project proposal, field works, data collection, reporting, and documentation.

TYPES OF INTERNSHIPS OFFERED

Concurrent Internship

The concurrent fieldwork occurs simultaneously with classroom instruction. The students will allow time between classroom learning and field-based learning. Typically, students spend two or three days a week at our agency and they take classes for the remaining two or three days of the week.

Block Internship

The block placement refers to a continuous full-time engagement of a social work student at our agency for a period ranging from at least a month to one year depending on the institution.

Short term Internship

The short term internship refers to a continuous full-time engagement of a social work student at our agency for a maximum of 10 to 20 days depending on the institution.

Voluntary work

The voluntary work refers to hours of service performed for our organization for “civic, charitable or humanitarian reasons, without promise, expectation or receipt of compensation for services rendered.

Paid Internship

The paid internship will provide payment to the interns and is designed to provide interns with work experience related to their field of study. The paid internship will be on a contract basis and related to a specific task. The interns can continue with the internship until the contract period ends.

National Internship

Sargakshetra invites interns from all over India to work jointly for the betterment of the people and thus the society. This can include block internship, short-term internship, and voluntary work.

International Internship

Sargakshetra invites interns from all over the world to work collaboratively for the betterment of the people and thus the society. This can include block internship, short-term internship, and voluntary work.

ROLE AS AN INTERN

Even though you are at the bottom of the career ladder, you’re also needed and your basic work is appreciated. As an intern, Sargakshetra expects you to work in the mentioned below areas:

  • Assisting with the coordination of NGO activities, including conducting meetings.
  • Assisting meetings, taking useful meeting minutes and preparing reports
  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the NGO and attending frequent organizational meetings to discuss events at the NGO.
  • Assisting with updating social networks.
  • Participating in and remaining informed of the foundation’s programs
  • Helping with editing information and assisting forwarding updated information to our international sending agents.
  • Innovative and creative inputs in the field level implementation.

ELIGIBILITY

Sargakshetra welcomes interns from all nationalities, religions, races, and creeds. Students enrolled as an undergraduate or postgraduate at an accredited College/University can apply for the internship program. Students who are into social work field are more preferred for the internship programme. 

HOW TO APPLY

  • Mail the application form along with the College/University request letter, CV, internship objectives.

INTERNSHIP TIMINGS AND DESCRIPTION

Interns will work from 9 A.M to 5 P.M

FIRST DAY FORMALITIES
  • Hard copies of the application form, CV, request form, attendance sheets, evaluation sheets and internship objectives should be submitted at the time of joining.
  • An orientation will be given about organization, its vision, mission and functioning.
FOOD AND ACCOMMODATION
  • Food and accommodation will be arranged for the interns who make prior request and payment.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
  • Applications should be submitted at least a week prior the internship start date.
  • Those who require food and accommodation should apply a month prior to the internship start date.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PEOPLE
  • A formal relationship exists within the members of the organization.
  • Staffs are cooperative and approachable in case any assistance needed.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION

We follow separate monitoring and evaluation plan for the interns, so a continuous monitoring and evaluation will be done by the agency supervisors. Both individual and group monitoring will be there. Interns will be monitored on the activities they do and also based on the reports they prepare.
